I have written multiple press releases for a variety of events. The example I have provided was from a semester long leadership project where my classmates and I paired with Step Up for Soldiers, a local non-profit aimed at helping veterans adjust back to life in the states, to raise money and awareness. Our overall goal was to raise $500 in three months and our profit would assist the organization in building a handicap accessible home for a veteran and his/her family to stay while he/she attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Press Release

Examples of my Professional Writing

I have supplied two prominent examples of my professional writing. Although I have more samples, I feel these pieces illustrate my successful use of professional jargon and framing. I understand that writings which are sent beyond the company, such as press releases, are held to a higher standard because they are the words that represent the organization. It is imperative to have the ability to create and edit professional letters in order to maintain a positive presence for the company.

This 'Dear John' letter was written when my leadership class decided to change our partnership from Cell Phones for Soldiers to Step Up for Soldiers. Because I was in charge of the Organization and Public Relations, writing and sending this letter was my duty. In this writing sample, you are able to see my ability to create well written, professional letters and how I am able to frame messages to achieve my goal while positively representing group.
